A Thin Ghost

If you appreciate genuine Ghost Stories and truly atmospheric supernatural films, you`re going to love this MP3. I compiled it about 15 years ago or more, combining the scariest/creepiest clips from films and narrated ghost stories, plus atmospheric music clips from the films. Listened to in the dark, with maybe a candle or two for company, it will make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end. The running time is and hour and a half, please take/make the time to listen, don`t give up half way through!....for best results, light some candles and incense, relax, lie back in a darkened room and close your eyes - but don`t, whatever you do, go to sleep!

http://mogggy.org/pami/AThinGhost.mp3
(84 MB - allow 3-4 minutes to download initially, time enough to put the kettle on and make a drink, or crack open a bottle of red and let it breathe. (For any subsequent listenings it will download almost instantaneously). Last of all, please let me know what you think!

Here is a list of the films I`ve taken clips from:-

The Innocents
The Haunting b/w
The Uninvited
Wuthering Heights (1939)
Nosferatu
Oh Whistle and I`ll come to you
The Woman in Black
Warning to the Curious
Dracula
Night of the Demon
The Signalman
M.R.James Audio CD
The Changeling

And thats it! I`d love to do A Thin Ghost 2, and if I had access to the right equipment I`d love to do a visual compilation too.

Youre Full of Beauty

Some of my heroines and heroes....

The amazing Emily Bronte - I named my daughter after her....and I`m honoured to share a birthday with her too..
image

Emily Bronte 30 July 1818 - 19 December 1848

"There is a spell in purple heath
Too wildly, sadly dear;
The violet has a fragrant breath
But fragrance will not cheer"

image
This is Yorkshire born Jake Thackray, singer/songwriter his lyrics can be excruciatingly funny one minute and the next have you in tears, such was his talent. I named my son after him. I`ll never forget the night I met him backstage after a gig at Nettlebed Folk Club...

image
The beautiful, ethereal Lillian Gish, a heroine...
image

image
Avro Vulcan - the sight and sound of her in the air is breathtaking...

image

Laura Nyro - I`ve been into her music since the seventies, pre-Kate, a stunning voice...I was also priveleged to have been able to see her perform live at the Union Chapel in London (Feb `95), not that long before her untimely death in April `97.

image
The adorable Stan and Ollie, they can cheer me up on the most miserable day...

image

Nick Drake wrote and sung the most achingly beautiful songs I`ve ever heard sung by a solo male artist....Northern Sky and River Man are a case in point, but there are so so many songs that are `up there` from Nick, so sad, wish he was still with us...

and I`ve just realised that all the heroines and heroes so far, apart from the Vulcan (very much alive), are dead....maybe I should have called this section `Dead Poets Society`...ah well...
