Emily Bronte 30 July 1818 - 19 December 1848
"There is a spell in purple heath
Too wildly, sadly dear;
The violet has a fragrant breath
But fragrance will not cheer"
This is Yorkshire born Jake Thackray, singer/songwriter his lyrics can be excruciatingly funny one minute and the next have you in tears,
such was his talent. I named my son after him. I`ll never forget the night I met him backstage after a gig at Nettlebed Folk Club...
The beautiful, ethereal Lillian Gish, a heroine...
Avro Vulcan - the sight and sound of her in the air is breathtaking...
Laura Nyro - I`ve been into her music since the seventies, pre-Kate, a stunning voice...I was also priveleged to have been able to see
her perform live at the Union Chapel in London (Feb `95), not that long before her untimely death in April `97.
Above: Gotch`s `Death the Bride` one of my all time favourite paintings...
Above: Arthur Hughes` `Ophelia`, love this....
`Carmilla`, by me, drawn in 1993 for issue 48 of HG. Not a clear reproduction because the original was lost, but gives a
rough idea anyway!
The following are the Moggy cartoons I did, which appeared in HG around the mid-nineties, brought the little smard fame and fortune it
did! Sky knitted Moggy the scarf he`s wearing in the photo immediately above, its even initialed!!
